• Bananas are usually made into banana bread or cake when they are overripe, or "going bad." "Going bad" can also mean into criminal activities, which is where the jail reference comes in. "Bent" means crooked, which can mean criminal, which is how criminals have come to be called "crooks."
• "Scone," when pronounced properly, rhymes with "gone," not "bone," so "banana scone" could be misheard as "Bananas Con," or a crazy convict.
