Description

Tired of wandering aimlessly through the junkyard, you decide to take your chances and rummage for some treasure. It's a gross job but the idea of glittering pirate gold is just enough of a temptation to consider grubbing around in the garbage. If there is gold, let's just hope that it isn't cursed... you don't fancy being a skeleton do you?

Choices

The Nearest Puddle

You decide to be very brave and plunge your hand into the biggest, muddiest puddle that you can see. It goes all the way up to your shoulder and after wriggling your hand around for a few minutes you grab hold of something and pull it out.

Your triumph is short lived when you realise that what you have hold of is actually a big fat slimy leech. It attaches itself onto your wrist and starts to feed. After finding a rock and bashing it until it squishes, you've lost a fair amount of blood and don't feel so good.

You lose 3-10 HP!

Or

You decide to be very brave and plunge your hand into the biggest, muddiest puddle that you can see. It goes all the way up to your shoulder and after wriggling your hand around for a few minutes you grab hold of something and pull it out.

You lift your prize up into the air triumphantly, only to realise that it's just a short piece of garden hose. Not that exciting, but it's better than nothing.

• You gain 1 short piece of hose.

Or

You decide to be very brave and plunge your hand into the biggest, muddiest puddle that you can see. It goes all the way up to your shoulder and after wriggling your hand around for a few minutes you grab hold of something and pull it out.

You lift your prize up into the air triumphantly, and some cheesy yet epic music starts to randomly play. At least, in your head it does. Anyway, you found some moolah!

A Cardboard Box

Just by your foot, there is a closed cardboard box. This seems a nice and safe option. Nothing in there that could hurt you, right? You lift the lid and take a peek into the darkness. You put your hand in, grab the first thing that you come across and bring it out into the light to see what you got.

• You gain 50-100 moolah (XX)%
• You gain 1 ball of dull coloured wool (XX)%
• You gain 1 confusing instruction manual (XX)%
• You gain 1 cuddly trash can (XX)%

A Random Rubbish Bag

You tear open the nearest rubbish bag that you can see and feel around inside. You know how the saying goes, "One man's trash is... usually still trash."

Rewards:

• You gain 1 discarded orange juice bottle (XX)%
• You gain 1 dodgy cigarette lighter (XX)%
• You gain 1 short piece of hose (XX)%
• You gain 1 shred of bin bag (XX)%

Don't Bother

The idea of crawling around in the trash amongst all sorts of rubbish that only some great divine presence might know the contents of doesn't fill you with joy. You decide to walk on by and retain some of your dignity.

Notes

• No matter which choice you pick, you can only receive one type of item from the encounter.

References

• The line "... unless it's cursed... You don't fancy being a skeleton, do you?" Is probably in reference to the movie Pirates of the Caribbean, in which the main plot of the story about the cursed pieces of gold and pirates who become skeletons under the moonlight.
• "You lift your prize up into the air triumphantly, and some cheesy yet epic music starts to randomly play" is a reference to the Legend of Zelda games, in which the character always lifts items he finds above his head and "cheesy yet epic" music is played.
• "One man's trash is... usually still trash." is a reference to the saying "One man's trash is another man's treasure."
