Description

It's a little-known fact, but leprechauns have a rich tapestry of cultural heritage, not just from their native Dyreland, but also from Mexxico, a small country just south of the Paraphernalian border. Anyway, here's a Mexxican Leprechaun, also known as a Mexxichaun.

Be careful. He doesn't have a badge and it doesn't look like he needs one.

Combat Messages

Initiative Message(s):

  • Fortunately for you, it seems to be siesta time, and you sneak up on him.

Missed Initiative(s):

  • "¡Hey Gringo!" he yells, hurling himself towards you, "¡No puedes tener mi olla de oro!"

Successful Attack(s):

  • Faster than a speeding mouse, your opponent lashes out at you, hitting you in the leg for X DAMAGE!
  • Your opponent whips off his bandolier and hurls it at your nose for X DAMAGE!
  • "¡Eres el hijo de una cabra sin una madre!" he shouts. Pah! Words will never hurt you! Oh wait, that was pretty harsh. You take X DAMAGE from the insult!

Missed Attack(s):

  • Your opponent takes a swing at you and misses. Apparently he's a Mexxican't.
  • Your opponent whips out a small ukulele case, but fumbles with the latches. Looks like you won't have to say hello to his little friend.
  • Your opponent tries to attack but gets tangled in his poncho.

Expired Combat Message(s):

  • Your opponent loses interest and wanders off to a donkey show, which sounds like it's some sort of nature documentary. Try not to take so long next time!

References

  • To contradict realism, Ireland and Mexico were renamed Dyreland and Mexxico respectively.
  • The last line about the badges is a reference to a line from a character "Gold Hat" in the 1948 film, Treasure of the Sierra Madre. The line was parodied in Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles, where it is most commonly accredited.
  • "No puedes tener mi olla de oro" means "You cannot have my golden pot"
  • "Eres el hijo de una cabra sin una madre" means "You are a son of a motherless goat," which references a line from Steve Martin's character "Lucky Day" in ¡Three Amigos!
  • "Faster than a speeding mouse" references cartoon character Speedy Gonzales.
  • "Looks like you won't have to say hello to his little friend." references the Al Pacino movie Scarface.
  • "Mexxican't" is a reference to a line in the movie Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
