Navigation bar (NavBar)/Menu Bar

The NavBar will help you quickly navigate to various locations and areas to do various things too. Move your mouse over the various “tabs” and a drop down menu will show up.

Navigate

  • Overview: Takes you to your player overview page
  • Main Map: Click here to go to the map of Paradox City.
  • Your Room: Takes you to your room, where you can rest for a turn. When you rest your HP and TP will increase for each turn you use.
  • Quest Log: Shows the quests you are working on and the ones you have completed.
  • Player Stores: Brings you to a search page where you can look for specific items or a specific player’s store. There is also a link here to manage your store.
  • Log out: When you are done playing Paradox you go here to log out.

Inventory

  • Backpack:
    • Consumables: Shows what you have to eat, drink, or use. The quantity you have is listed in parenthesis. Click the blue link under the item that says eat, drink, or use. Click he “w” for more information about an item. It is a direct link to the Paradox Wiki.
    • Equipment: Click here to see what equipment you have in your backpack. The top left area show what equipment you are currently wearing. The top right area is where you can change equipment. You can even name your outfit so you can quickly put on the same outfit again in the future. Below that, your remaining pieces of equipment are sorted by type. You may also elect to equip items by clicking on the equip link below them.
    • Miscellaneous: Your stuff that is not consumable or a piece of equipment.

Other Storage

  • Installed Devices: Some items need to be installed before they can be used. If you have a device that needs to be installed, it will show up here with a link that says “install”. If you have any devices installed, they will show up here. If there are no devices installed it says “you don’t have any installed devices".
  • Stash: Your stash is a place that you can store items and moolah. Only you can see what you have in your stash.
  • Store: Click here to find a link to other players’ stores. This is also where you are able to purchase your store! You must be at least level 5 to open a store of your own. A store costs 50,000 moolah.(If you are not at a high enough level, or do not have enough moolah, or just do not want to open a store just yet, there is a link here so you can autosell your stuff. Just click the word “here”). If you click the “manage store” link before you own a store, it will take you back to the purchase a store page. Once you have purchased a store, when you click store you are able to manage your store. You may put items from your backpack, stash, or showcase into your store for sale. Just select the storage area and compartment and you will see all items from there listed. Scroll down till you find the item you want to add to your store. In the Qty box, type the quantity you want to add to your store. In the Limit box, type if you want a daily limit so that one person may not buy all of the item. In the Price box, type how much you want to sell the item for. You may sell it for any amount you would like, as long as it is at least twice the autosell value. If you try to price an item for less than that, it will automatically be listed at twice the autosell value. Click the add button to put the item in your store. You will see the item listed in your store now. Make sure that there is a “y” in the Active column in order for it to show up to your customers. If there is an “n” there, click the “n” and it will change into a “y”. Make sure to click the update all button when you are done. You may edit the name of your store and add or edit a description about your store as well. The activity log shows what was purchased from your store in the last 72 hours. The information includes the who, the what, and the how much. View more: Click here to see the activity log for the last 30 days.
    • There are other links in this area: refresh, search other player stores, view your store. Click refresh to refresh what you have been working on. Click search other player stores to go to a search page where you can look for specific items or a specific player’s store. Click view your store to see what it looks like to your customers when they visit.
  • Showcase: Your showcase is a place where you can showcase your stuff for other players to see. This is where to put stuff that you want to collect. The menu option will only show up if you already own a showcase. A showcase costs 50,000 moolah.(In order to buy a showcase, you need to go under inventory: manage stuff and scroll down) When you click the showcase link after you have bought one, you will see your what your showcase looks like when others look at it. A showcase costs 50,000 moolah and it comes with one default compartment.You may add new compartments to your showcase as well. Each showcase compartment is more expensive than the previous. The first additional compartment will cost 7,500 moolah, then 15,000 moolah for the next.Each showcase compartment will be 7,500 more moolah than the previous one. You may name your compartments whatever you would like and items may be placed in whatever compartment you want.
    • Manage showcase: When you click here, you will be directed to the manage your stuff page.
  • Manage Your Stuff: The top area is where you move things from one storage area to another storage area. In order to move items, you must first select both the storage area that the item is currently stored in and where you want it to move to. Once your item is selected you will click on one of the following buttons:

< (#) to move a specific number that you will be prompted to enter of the highlighted item from the right list to the left list.
< (All) to move all of the highlighted item from the right list to the left list.
< (All – 1) to move all but one of the highlighted item from the right list to the left list.
  • Scroll down in this section of Paradox to see information about purchasing additional storage for your stash and showcase.


Management

  • Autosell Stuff: One way to get some extra moolah is to autosell extra items. There is a preset value for each item. The quantity you own is in parenthesis after the item name. The autosell value is listed beneath the item. Items are organized by category. Click the box in front of item(s) you are interested in autoselling to select them. Choose the quantity you want to sell near the top where you see “with selected”: Sell All, Sell All But One, or Sell Quantity. The default for Sell Quantity is 1. When you are all set, click the “sell” button. The moolah will show up in your CharPane (left panel of the game).
  • Combine Stuff: You may want to use turns to upgrade certain foods, drinks, weapons, or equipment. You will see a list of available ingredients. All of these items can combine with at least one other item, but not necessarily with all items! If you try to combine items that do not make anything your result will say “you can’t combine those items into anything good.”
    • Look at your list of available ingredients on the left side. Highlight the ingredient you want and then to add it to the recipe choose one of the top three buttons and click:

  • The following buttons are to move things from the recipe list back to the ingredients list.

  • Once you discover the recipe for combining items together you will learn that recipe and the next time you want to make it you will be able to click the box that says “select a recipe (if you know any)”. There you enter the quantity you want to make or click the box in front of Make as many as possible and you will make as many as you can with the ingredients you have. If you try to combine items that do not make anything your result will say “you can’t combine those items into anything good.”

  • The first additional stash compartment will cost 2,000 moolah, then 4,000 moolah for the next. Each additional stash compartment will cost 2,000 more moolah than the previous one. You may name your stash compartments whatever you would like and items may be placed where in whatever compartment you want.
  • The first additional showcase compartment will cost 7,500 moolah, then 15,000 moolah for the next. Each additional showcase compartment will cost 7,500 more moolah than the previous one. You may name your showcase compartments whatever you would like and items may be placed in whatever compartment you want.

Account

  • Profile: This is where you add information about yourself that you want others to know: age, gender, location, timezone, website, and comments. This is where you go to change your password as well. No-one else will see your email address. It will be required if you forget your password though.
  • Options: This is an area where you can customize some aspects of the game related to fighting, interface, chat and mail, as well as your store. A check mark in the box means yes and an empty box means no. Make sure to click update when you make changes.
  • Avatar: Click here if you want to have a display picture of something that represents you in the game! Click “Enable Avatars”. It will cost you one Token of Appreciation to do this. When you decide what you want your avatar to be, you must click “choose file” and then click “upload”. Your avatar may be a GIF (animated OK), PNG, or JPG, no larger than 150x150 pixels, and no more than 100kB filesize. Ideally your avatar should be EXACTLY 150x150 as it will be resized to fit and may look strange if the dimensions are wrong. Currently there is no limit to how many changes you can make, but please note that ALL custom Avatars are subject to approval by the game Administrators (which may take up to 72 hours, please be patient).

Mail

  • Inbox: Read your mail! You may delete, save, mark as read, or mark as unread here. You may also write a new message here by clicking new message. If you click on the “from” you will be redirected to that player’s player information screen. If you click on the “subject” you will see the message. While you are reading the message you have the choices of: going back to inbox, save, reply, reply quoted, forward, or delete.
  • Sent Messages: Messages that you wrote to other players are stored here, but only if you checked the “save a copy” box before you sent the message.
  • Saved Messages: Messages that you marked to save will go here. They will no longer be in your inbox with your other messages.
  • New Message: If you want to write a message to someone just type their name, add a subject, and then write them a message. Be sure to click the “save a copy” box if you want to have a copy of it too. You may attach items or send moolah. Click “send message” when you are done.
  • Report a Bug: If you notice something that seems out of whack in the game, it may be a bug. Check out the forums first to see if anyone else has reported it already. If not, you may fill out this handy dandy form with a subject and message about the problem and someone on the development team will look into it.

Records

  • The Firstest: The first ten people to complete a task, find a recipe, or do some other such thing in Paradox! The Musical.
  • The Mostest: People that have the most items in their collections (displayed in their showcase), have played the most turns, have the highest skills and that sort of thing. This list currently shows the top ten players in each category.
  • The Fasterest: People who have done quests in a certain number of turns is listed here.

Misc

  • Updates: Click here to go to a page that shows updates mostly pertaining to Paradox! The Musical.
  • Documentation: Click here to learn some basics about how to do things in Paradox! The Musical.
  • Forums: The Paradox forums is a great place to get information, ask questions, offer suggestions, and communicate with many players at once. There is an in depth FAQ for the forums.
  • Wiki: We have our own Wiki for Paradox! The Musical. This will be a great place to learn a lot of information about the game.
  • Donate: This game is and always will be free to play. However, donations help to cover the cost of hosting the game and are appreciated very much. Depending on the amount donated, you may receive at least one Token of Appreciation which can be used in Paradox! The Musical.
  • Token Gear (TM): This store is where you can buy really cool items to use in Paradox! The Musical. The currency here is Tokens of Appreciation, which may be earned by making a financial contribution to Paradox! The Musical.
