Description

You've unleashed the beast of bio-exorcism. A supernatural chill runs down your spine and raises the hairs on the back of your neck, forcing those around you to jump in de line and rock their bodies in time. Sounds plausible.

Effect

Randomly attacks in combat.

  • Attack messages:
    • A random witch doctor marches up to your opponents, sprinkles some sparkly dust in his direction and gives him a little head. In public? This causes your opponents X shrinkage damage.
    • A giant rattle-snake with a human-shaped head suddenly appears and bites your opponent for X damage!

Randomly blocks attacks in combat.

  • Block messages:
    • A giant hand with enormous shrimp-shaped fingers grabs your opponents while ominous sounding bongo drums roll and a loud, calypso holler bursts out of nowhere. It's too loud man. Like, wow! Meanwhile, your opponents seems to have missed its opportunity to attack.
    • A dishevelled, creepy-looking, vaguely corpse-ish guy in a black-and-white-striped suit appears out of nowhere and, with a flourish, proclaims it to be SHOWTIME! He throws his cigarette to one side, then kisses your your opponents on the cheek and says, "Not so fast buddy! We're going to have some laughs." This thoroughly perplexes your opponents and prevents opponents attacking you this round.

Randomly gives you extra turns at the end of combat:

  • You're feeling fairly pleased with yourself until your case worker storms up to you and starts ranting about how you really need to stay away from the Beta Juice and learn to handle things by yourself. To help you do this she gives you 2-3 turns to help you figure out how to scare your opponents off on your own.

Randomly gives you chat effect messages:

  • Si, senor.
  • Ok, I believe you.
  • Daylight come an' me wan' go home.
  • You jump in de saddle, hold on to de bridle.
  • Hide de deadly black tarantula.
  • Jump in de line.
  • Daaaaaaaay-O!
  • Shake, shake, shake senora.

Notes

  • X = something related to level, I've gotten as low as 3 and as high as 26, I think it is capped at 26.
  • It is possible to get multiple extra turn encounters within 20 turns.
  • Trying to drink Beta Juice for the 4th time this is what comes up: You start to raise the carton to your lips but a shiver runs down your spine. Maybe you've had enough Beta Juice for one day.

References

  • There are several references to the movie Beetle Juice:
    • There is a bio-exorcist in Beetle Juice.
    • "jump in de line and rock their bodies in time" are lyrics from The Harry Belafonte song "Jump in the Line", which was sung in Beetle Juice.
    • "Senora Shakes" is also a reference to lyrics in that song .
    • "A random witch doctor marches up to your opponents, sprinkles some sparkly dust in his direction and gives him a little head" is a reference to the movie as well, as that is how Beetle Juice's head shrinks.
