He takes the item from you, tinkers with it for a few seconds, then hands you what looks like a hideously complex device.
"Once you've installed that device, you'll be able to successfully generate your very own Holopets, who will accompany you around the place and get in your wa.... er, help you out. All you need to do is to get yourself one of these here holopet thingamajigs, load it up in your C.A.G.E. and you're all set.
