I get that. It is obviously one of those gumball machine toys. But the way "You know, like a bigger flashlight you can actually use." is worded, I don't think it's questioning its the small flashlights ability to work. But instead simply saying its the same as a regular flashlight and as to why wouldn't the user use that instead, given a bigger flashlight would have a larger scope of light.
Or atleast that's what I'm getting out of it.

Personally I agree with Elusis. Small flashlights may be useless but that doesn't have anything to do with the game. The fact is the item is a flashlight keyring. It isn't a reference that they are rubbish, it is just a fact of life. [[User:MrsORaptor|MrsORaptor]]
