Weakened Ants

You're following a steady trail of discarded safety helmets but seeing only a few ants here and there. You figure that the ants have given up trying to protect themselves and have started trying to hide.

Eventually, you come across a group of them cowering behind a clump of grass. It appears that running from you has taken quite a bit of effort because they look exhausted and scared. And so they should, because you know what fate awaits them.

You decide to put them out of their misery, take out your last bottle of ant-acid and spread it as far as you can. This time there are no screams but you can still hear the sizzle of the acid making contact with the ground.

Somehow, this is less satisfying than you thought it would be.

You'd like to think that's taken care of the ant problem, but you just know you're going to have to take out the nest itself. A couple of ants have survived your latest attack, and you decide to follow them to the nest.

As you set out to follow them you come across a small pair of trousers lying on the ground. Looks like you scared the pants off these guys.
