Hitler Snaps: The Beginning

Description

The scene opens on a young Farguian man and a Briddish girl riding on bicycles, laughing over some private joke. They stop in the park and feed some pigeons. Then the man pulls a box out of his pocket and hands it to the girl with a shy look on his face. The camera pans in as she opens it, and you get a close-up look at the ring. She nods emphatically and jumps into his arms. Then they get on their bicycles and ride away.

The next scene, they're at the girl's house, having dinner with her parents. The girl shares the happy news, and her father immediately starts yelling his disapproval while her mother just sits silently shaking her head. "We wanted you to marry a good Briddish boy, not some poor Farguian! I absolutely forbid it!" The girl runs out of the room in tears, and the man is pushed out of the house.

The man is now sitting in the park alone. Some pigeons fly up to him, but he has nothing to offer them. Suddenly he gets a look on his face of pure determination and jumps from his seat, sending the pigeons scattering.

Next he is sitting in a dimly lit room, typing angrily on a typewriter. The camera pans in on the front page, and you see the title of his story: "Franke"

As you walk out of the cinema, you wonder why the film was listed as being a romantic comedy. You overhear some people talking behind you, "Man, I LOVE Briddish comedy!" Now it all makes sense. You chuckle the rest of the way home.
