Description

You've heard stories about various lamps, and even the occasional bottle, that contain mystical properties and in many cases genies. This one doesn't look like much though and let's face it, those genie types are usually nothing but mischief, trouble and poor impersonations, and you're not interested in that. Are you?

When Used

You rub the lamp softly. Nothing happens. You rub the lamp a little more vigorously. Nothing happens. You scratch your head and then give the lamp the polishing of its life. Still nothing happens. Feeling foolish for believing all the hullabaloo about genies in the first place, you throw the lamp away. As well as the tissue.

Suddenly, you are surrounded by a cloud of blue smoke and you feel something smack you on the back of the head.

"Ouch!" you say, somewhat predictably.

"How do you like it?" says an angry voice with a strange accent. "It's not very nice you know, throwing other people's houses around. And I was in the middle of a nice dream, but you wouldn't care about that, now would you? No, of course not. You're too busy just throwing people's houses about all willy-nilly, nearly giving them concussions. Well, what have you got to say for yourself?"

"Uh...I..." you mutter.

"Just as I thought. I've got half a mind to turn you into some sort of non-descript lizard thingy, but I won't this time. I'm going to be the bigger person, which is more than I can say for you. Now shove off."

You turn to walk away and then remember why you were rubbing the lamp in the first place.

Finding your tongue, and your spine, you muscle up to the genie and say "No. No I wont shove off. I freed you so now you have to give me something. I believe three wishes is the standard method of payment for that sort of thing."

The genie facepalms and mutters something about stupid movies and kids these days before sticking his hands in his pockets and saying "I don't do wishes and you're really starting to get on my nerves. Now take this and leave me alone."

With that he removes his hands from his pockets and thrusts a handful of moolah at you. You think about arguing for a minute and then decide that you've probably annoyed the genie enough for the minute. You can always rub the lamp again later.

At least you could if you could find it. Both the genie and the lamp seem to have disappeared.
