Texas Halloween XIII: At Camp, No One Can Hear You Dream

Description

The film starts. You are quickly drawn into the story of a group of teens who are enjoying a week's retreat at Mystral Lake during its thirteenth annual Halloween celebration. The plot develops around these teens being systematically slaughtered by some dude in a creepy hockey mask. You're not quite sure why the mask has red concentric circles around the eye-holes, until one of the girls in the film manages to target those openings with a set of size-K crotchet hooks. Ouch! That HAD to hurt.

All-in-all, the movie is not too bad and you only have to avert your eyes once during the film, about an hour into it, when one of the girls who are fleeing for their lives decides to go back into the cabin to find that stray cat when she KNOWS the dude in the hockey mask is in there with a chainsaw. I mean come on. Who would do that? When you look back, the final credits are scrolling up off the screen.

"Of course! Donald Pleasence!" you say out loud as you wonder why you can never remember that actor's name and, at the same time, notice that everyone else has left the cinema. You are momentarily confused as you try to figure out why you would fall asleep during such a celluloid gem. Huh. Oh well, you can always catch the ending on DVD.

As you get out of your seat to leave, you notice what appears to be a hat of some sort in the seat to your right. You pick it up and see a note beneath it.

"Next time, you won't wake up!" it says.
