President Evil

This movie just goes to show that critics don't matter and people will flock to any film based on a popular video game.

The film begins in a secret laboratory hidden beneath the Presidential residence in Opossum City. The lab, owned by the Bumbershoot Corporation, was installed to find a way to keep the current President alive for another 70 years. Fortunately for everyone in the cinema, a vial of mysterious purple liquid is broken by the inept Vice President, killing everyone in the lab including the President within 10 minutes of the opening credits. Unfortunately, they don't stay dead. Looks like you're going to have to sit through more of this claptrap.

The rest of the movie is pretty much the usual sci-fi gore-fest as the now mutated President kills all heavily-armored military units sent in to decontaminate the place and large metallic objects make crashing noises just by being looked at. Once free from his confinement, it's pretty much government as usual as the now rampaging Head of State stamps his signature on legislation banning heavily-armored military units and any research into alternative fuel sources.

The game was better.
