Text Effects

When typing in chat, bold and italic effects may be used for emphasis.

bold

Surround characters you want to appear in bold with a pair of asterisks

Usage: *TEXT*

Example: here is some *text* with a *bold* effect

Result: here is some text with a bold effect

italics

Surround characters you want to appear in italic with a pair braces

Usage: {TEXT}

Example: here is some {text} with an {italic} effect

Result: here is some text with an italic effect

• Note: If you actually WANT to display multiple asterisks or braces, care must be taken to ensure the characters are retained, although... you should probably consider whether that's something you REALLY need first.

Emoticons

Here is a list of emoticons that can be used in the chat pane. You can turn the display of chat emotes on and off by changing the setting in your account options.
