You poke, prod, turn and generally fiddle with the device for a few seconds, eventually causing it to whirr, clatter, clank and bang into life.

After a brief, if somewhat noisy, period of time, the device spits out a short piece of paper with writing on it, before powering itself off again. really bad joke
