Today in Paradox History

June 1

2014: The Paradox community extends its sympathy to the family of DJ Toothless, who passed away early Sunday morning in the United States. An original DJ and station manager with Radio Free Xangaka, Toothless provided many hours of wonderful music and fun over the years. He will be missed.

2009: Player profiles have been slightly modified so that you don't have to scroll past the comments to reach the store/showcase/contact/respect stuff.

Know of something else that happened on this day? Add it here!

This Month's Featured Article

Farming Locations

If you don't want to reset your progress over and over and just want to make your character stronger, or simply make some moolah, there are a variety of locations to explore. Some are better for making moolah, some are better, for stat farming, and some are better for specific item farm, or a group of items. This article will show some of the best zones to farm in, and explain why.

If you just want to make moolah, the Second-hand Sideshow or Mine Camp F is your best bet. They have similar moolah drop rates per opponent, but have some slight differences. The mining camp drops more moolah on average, though not by much. It also will give you ores, and nuggets if you have a Gold-panning pan equipped. On the other hand, the sideshow gives an effect that increases moolah drops by 10% for 10 turns, and has a chance to give you anywhere from 10,000 to 1,000,000 moolah! If you're feeling lucky, it could be better, but in the long run the Mine Camp is probably better.

For stat farming, there are two things you can do. The first and most effective thing is to farm the labs in the Department of Questionable Sciences with as much Opponent Level gear as you can. You can also use Stilts if you don't have Pranksta Spats. The second thing you can do is somewhat expensive. Buy effective foods and drinks that give high turns per link to turns v stomach page and link to turns v bladder page, and also give some subpoints. This will give you more turns to farm for stats, but it is expensive.

A more interesting thing to farm for are items. Each location has certain items that are valuable. For example, the The Long Wood has Wooden jugs that are valuable, but the other items in there are not very desired. So, when picking a zone to farm, you may want to look for areas that drop multiple items that are in high demand, or only drops items in high demand. Good examples would be the Cafeteria, which only drops patties and buns, or Downtown, which has some junk items but also drops tiny bottles of liquor which are used to make high quality drinks, or the DQS Kitchens, which drops many food and drink ingredients, most notably Probably milk and Teaspoon of coffee grounds.

In closing, when picking a place to farm, whether it is for moolah, stats, or items, pick a place that is right for you. Don't pick a zone where you'll get beaten up constantly, as you are just wasting turns and moolah doing that. If the economy is stagnant and too many of a certain item are in circulation, don't farm for it! Farming zones can be repetitive, but your hard work pays off and it's not uncommon to make millions per month!

References need spading!

The game contains a massive number of pop-culture references still to be found. Almost everything has at least one, and many things have several. If you're looking for something to do, feel free to browse through the wiki and see how many you can spot, then go right ahead and add them in the appropriate section.

Wiki wacky taffies are available to be given out to those that contribute.
